| Dollhouse’s Enver Gjokaj Invites You to Point Dume |
On Dollhouse, Enver Gjokaj was a standout as Victor, one of the many dolls working (or enslaved?) alongside Echo (Eliza Dushku). Gjokaj quickly proved to be amazingly versatile, and deftly handled any accent, mannerism or dramatically different character the show threw at him – including a couple of very notable times when he was called on to play other characters on the series. With Dollhouse over, Gjokaj has a new project – an original comedy webseries called Previously on Point Dume (check out the first episode below). On the heels of having just filmed a guest appearance on Lie to Me, Gjokaj spoke to me about Previously on Point Dume, how the webseries came together, his thoughts on the end of Dollhouse and more. | HitFix Interview: ‘Dollhouse’ star Enver Gjokaj talks ‘Previously on Point Dume’ |
While “Dollhouse” began life as a vehicle for star and producer Eliza Dushku, one of the supporting players who immediately drew the notice of fans was Enver Gjokaj. As Gjokaj kept showcasing his versatility — one week he was Russian, the next week British, the next week he became co-star Reed Diamond — his Victor seemed to get more and more screentime. Eventually, Victor’s relationship with Dichen Lachman’s Sierra became a key part of the show’s emotional core. When the Joss Whedon drama ended its truncated two-season run this winter, fans immediately started waiting for Gjokaj to land a pilot role. So far, that wait continues, but Gjokaj’s next project will make its online debut next week. Posted on 2010 March 20 | Filed under Interviews | 0 Comments | News Archive |
| Dollhouse Star Enver Gjokaj’s New Webseries Channels Twin Peaks |
Enver Gjokaj played Victor (and a whole bunch of other characters) on Joss Whedon’s much-missed show Dollhouse. Now he’s following in Whedon’s footsteps, launching a new webseries called Previously On Point Dume. He told us it’s “Twin Peaks meets Clue.” Previously On Point Dume’s first brief video taste will go online on Monday, via FunnyOrDie, but we got a sneak peek at it, and a chance to talk to one of our favorite Dollhouse stars. Point Dume is a made-up soap opera about a community full of tawdry secrets, in which strange supernatural events are happening and the dead sometimes rise again. It’s hilarious and tongue in cheek, with just the right amount of campiness and silliness — it did remind me a lot of Clue, actually. Here’s the official synopsis: Posted on 2010 March 19 | Filed under Previously on Point Dume, Web Series | 0 Comments | News Archive |
| Enver’s new web series, Previously on Point Dume. |
Enver will be producing as well as starring as Bron the Landscapist in the production, which we can now confirm will be an exclusive for http://www.funnyordie.com/. We’ve seen some of it and it’s quirky and fun. We will update with the actual live link for public consumption when it becomes available, but wanted to get the word out there for the man who was one of our favorite reasons to tune in to Dollhouse every week.
